The year isn’t exactly starting strong for PS Plus subscribers. Once again, the Essential selection (the three free games offered to all members) is struggling to make an impact. While Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Need for Speed Unbound, and especially Core Keeper are solid games within their respective genres, they’re not quite hitting the mark for the majority of subscribers. However, most will be able to enjoy a selection of additional titles through their PS Plus Extra or Premium subscriptions. The major headliners for January 2026 had already leaked, but now it’s time for the official reveal.
Here Are the PS Plus Extra Games for January 2026
Pretend to be surprised. Last night, data miner BillBil-Kun, got an early look at the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup for January 2026. This information has since been confirmed by Sony, who also took the opportunity to reveal the final missing titles. Headlining this month’s offerings is Resident Evil Village, the eighth installment of the series, which features the now-iconic Lady Dimitrescu. It’s the perfect chance to catch up before the arrival of Resident Evil 9, set to launch on February 27, 2026, for consoles and PC.
On the other end of the spectrum, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth brings a dramatic shift with its RPG take on the Yakuza saga, becoming the first title in the series to leave Japan. This time, players are off to Hawaii, where the beaches, massive shopping malls, and local criminal underworld await, all as part of the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup for January 2026.
These two heavy hitters are accompanied by other excellent games within their respective genres, such as Expeditions: A MudRunner Game for off-road driving enthusiasts and The Exit 8, an indie gem that’s quickly become a must-play.
